This journey to the U.S.S.R. was in the early 80's with a Maupintour People-to-People group. We traveled by train from Helsinki to Leningrad, continued to Moscow, then set off south towards the Black Sea taking in the regions fine wines and countryside of what today is Ukraine. Chernobyl had recently taken place. We traveled on the outskirts.
